senior colonel zhou bo (ret.), senior fellow at tsinghua university’s center for international security and strategy and a china forum expert, gave an interview in a cna documentary, which was one of the gold winners in the documentaries | global issues category at the world media festivals. the festival, one of the most important events in the industry, was held on may 29 in hamburg, germany.
the documentary series went live in april 2023 on streaming media. zhou was interviewed in the first episode, preparing for dangerous storms, in which he introduces china’s latest military developments and efforts in national defense and army modernization, and shares his take on the country’s naval buildup, the taiwan question, and the south china sea issue. the three-episode film, covering china’s military, economy and technology, has drawn nearly ten million views across streaming platforms.
